Western Health Advantage is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Provider Relations Support Specialist to provide administrative support to the Provider Relations team. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate provider records, supporting provider data integrity initiatives, and ensuring documentation is processed efficiently and accurately. The ideal candidate demonstrates exceptional attention to detail, strong data entry skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while working across various systems and databases.
The Provider Relations Support Specialist plays a key role in supporting the accuracy and maintenance of provider information. This position is heavily focused on data entry, data validation, record maintenance, file management, and research. Success in this role requires a high degree of accuracy, the ability to identify and correct discrepancies, and a commitment to maintaining quality standards in a fast-paced environment.
What You’ll Do
- Process and maintain provider records with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Monitor and manage the Provider Relations departmental email inbox, routing and processing requests within established timelines.
- Organize, format, save, and maintain provider rosters, validation reports, profiles, and supporting documentation.
- Review provider data for completeness and accuracy, identifying and correcting discrepancies as needed.
- Conduct research using internal systems and external resources to verify provider information.
- Process routine provider record updates, including demographic changes, practice locations, specialties, affiliations, and participation status.
- Maintain tracking logs, audit documentation, and records required for operational and regulatory compliance.
- Support provider directory maintenance activities and data quality initiatives.
- Collaborate with internal departments, provider groups, and external vendors to obtain missing information and resolve data issues.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, HIPAA requirements, and information security standards.
- Meet established productivity, quality, accuracy, and turnaround-time expectations.
What You Bring
- Minimum of two years of related experience in the healthcare industry; HMO experience preferred.
- Demonstrated experience with data entry, record maintenance, and administrative support functions.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining a high degree of accuracy.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and internet-based applications.
- Ability to follow written procedures, prioritize work effectively, and manage multiple assignments.
- Experience researching and validating information from a variety of sources.
- Experience with Facets application software is preferred.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
This role is primarily computer-based with minimal phone interaction, ideal for someone who enjoys focused, independent work.
